Hey now...

Another weird chapter from the more alien reaches of the Arbitrary Signs catalog. Ok... here's the story as best as I can remember...

When I first moved to Bushwick from Louisville.. I kept a late night lifestyle... prime time for creative endeavors was sometime between 12:30 and 2 AM. The apartment had a decidedly Silence of the Lambs vibe.. and it always smelled like goats head stew... thanks to the Haitian landlord family downstairs. But the kitchen had a big amp, a nice record collection, and it was kind of a dreamy time.

Lil dusty was born around this time. I'm not quite sure how or why.. but it happened. He probably would have stayed buried in the archives somewhere.. except one time my friend Josh Burkett.. (whose art is the cover of this album here) came to visit when I was listening to some Lil Dusty jams I had made on my boombox. He was really really stoked about it and he invited me to play a gig up at the Mystery Train record store in Amherst. Also played some Dusty gigs at John Zorn's "The Stone" space on the lower east side. This was all sometime in the mid 2000's .

Anyway this album, is the sort of magnum opus of the Lil' Dusty ouvre. I hope you enjoy it...

Who knows..maybe one day Lil D will ride again!
