about

This recording was made in Louisville, Kentucky on 11/27/2005. It was a bittersweet homecoming gig for the Markers at this awesome tiny dive bar in Germantown. The Markers (Pete and Elisa) had recently left town acrimoniously, parting company for windier and applier cities. We'd also spent a summer touring the country with Sonic Youth making enemies and friends in every town we played. We were feeling a bit unapologetic about who we were and what we did in public at this point in the game.

What did we do? Apparently our game was massive long form sound sculptures with impressionistic and vaguely menacing lyrics, with some muddy hardcore energy to stir the pot. The crowd at this gig was enthusiastic. Louisville will always be a home base for the Markers. Hopefully we make it back again one day.
