Once, and only once upon a time.... The Magik Markers had a practice space. We would join together once a week and do whatever the fuck we felt like doing. It was really cool. It was in 2014. We all lived in Massachusetts then. John and Elisa in their Holyokes and me in my Northampton. There was a smelly grotto that we'd inherited from the Fat Worm of Error. I used to get there way earlier than those two and curse them for being late. I'd curse them with squalls of feedback and noise from the loudest guitar I'd ever played. They'd show up and I'd go to the bathroom and get locked out and they wouldn't realize for like half an hour because they were too busy telling jokes. We told way more jokes than made music. But we made music too. This cd has been sitting on my shelf labeled "really good Jan 2014" since then. One tune, "Are There Chickens?" appeared on a benefit to end homelessness. I'm not sure if this song helped, but I think it's ready to just be the first song on this record now. Nothing really exists from this time except for this. It was recorded onto 4 track. One song appears in 2 versions... It's a bass line John wrote in high school. Magik Markers isn't promised.
