about

Here are 3 extended cuts from the sprawling infant trio version of Spectre Folk. Meehan and I had been rolling around Canada and the West Coast letting our brand of guitar mess ooze out over unsuspecting crowds in the yoga studios and art galleries that would give us space to "do our thing" for the previous year. This was around 2009, before our Woodsist EP Blackest Medicine 2 came out. Around this time we had somehow recruited Steve Shelley to play with us. I think I asked him on Facebook if he wanted to jam. Peter and I would lug our guitars onto the path train over to Echo Canyon West in Hoboken and do what you hear on this record. Steve would lay it the fuck down as only Steve Shelley can.

I think these jams serve as a cool document of an otherwise undocumented time in our trip. I hope you enjoy!
