United Waters is the solo project of long time Mouthus breather Brian Sullivan. It is a great evolution for the Mouth man from both his work in Mouthus as well as his previous nom de gloom "Eskimo King" in that the song writing is very concise and fully realized. It's weird to talk about Mouthus in terms of songwriting but it's true. Somehow Brian has taken the attention to murk that he spent years cultivating in the Mouthus sound and applied a Tusk era Fleetwood Mac songwriting sensibility. This is truly an incredible outsider songwriter statement and it has been criminally overlooked since it's release. It's a really cool record and it would make a great addition to the home of a record collector who appreciates records of depth that age well over time like a fine wine.
